How do I transfer an .EU domain name away from QiQ? Print

  • 1

If you want to trade your .eu domain name to someone else, several things must happen:

The organisation or person taking over your .eu domain name must ask an accredited .eu registrar to contact us on his or her behalf and request a trade.

Once we’ve received the request we’ll send both you and the future holder an email asking you to confirm that you want the trade to proceed. You can confirm the trade by clicking on a link in the email. (Trades can also be confirmed by fax.)

You have 14 days to confirm. If neither or only 1 of you confirms during this time, the trade will expire. If both of you confirm, the trade will be approved.

After approval, EURid will update the .eu WHOIS database. A new registration period then begins for the new domain name holder.

We charge registrars for trades, so the new domain holder may be charged as well. Ask your registrar if you have questions about fees.
